After having two agents and writing for over 20 years, Mary decided to self-publish. Her agent was against it. "You won't know how to do it correctly." Those were fighting words. Mary made it her mission to make sure she did it, and she did it correctly. But it was more complicated than she thought it would be.
A Reluctant Teacher
Mary spent several years mastering her self-publishing. And one week in 2024, five people approached her with how she had done it. There was a lot of knowledge to pass along that took a lot of time, so Mary started writing it all down as she started thinking about it.
Labor of Love
As she put together her presentation, she realized it was more than just a handout she could give people. There were stories and advice, ways to reduce the frustration and learning curve.
